My favorite caliber is .45ACP and my favorite platform to launch the 230 grain manstopper is the 1911a1...

Looking at all the 1911's make me want to get one. To bad NY's pistol permit takes forever to get and at the end you don't even have a Concealed Carry.

Really...you got to wait to get a permit just to be able to purchase a handgun ?!

Does anybody here have a WWII Remington Rand 1911a1 they would like to share with us ?!

Definitely not a great camera angle or even a good photograph, but this is how my daily carry looks to me when I just look down and right. You might call it a different perspective than what one sees in the usual 1911 pic threads .....

Nice shot.

Looks very familiar, only mine rides in an open-top level II.

Picked up a 4" Rock Island Armory MS 1911a1 today...

Been curious about the brand for a while and since I've been needing a mid-sized 1911 in my life I figured I'd give 'em a shot.......so to speak. It's not a true commander length, but it'll do just fine. It's park'd with a set of pretty basic wood grips, but those'll get replaced very soon. I'm thinking about installing an extended beavertail grip safety, an extended thumb safety, a commander style hammer, and a new trigger as well.

Enough talk, here are the pics...

That looks like one very solid pistol. Nice. I'd be proud to have one like it. :)

Thanks nitesite.

It feels like one too. I'm lookin forward to heat'n it up as soon as I get a chance. Probably gonna end up tweakin this one a bit with an extended thumb and beavertail safety, a commander style hammer, and a new trigger.

Thank you Sir, these things are awesome!

They're ETC G10 panels in black desert sand from VZgrips.
