My main interest is home/self-defense but I also am getting into range shooting to hone my pistol and rifle skills.
I just recently got a new Remington 783 chambered in .270 Win. I've only had it out once to sight in a scope. I did that at 50 yards. I just bought a spotting scope so I can sight in at 100 yards next time out. My goal is to get some nice groupings at 200 yards. If I can do that, I'll go from there.
No doubt, I'll be asking for some tips on this forum.
This is my first high powered rifle and I have been researched and learned how to properly mount and sight in a scope and about the features of this starter/budget rifle. I find range shooting very relaxing and a lot of fun.
My equipment is low-end but I want to see if I can perform at a respectable level of accuracy and skill. So far, I am very pleased.
I have come here to learn about the 783 from other owners and to learn about maintaining, shooting and shooting accessories from others on this forum.
I'll be asking some newbie questions but hope to spend some time here and share my progress.
I've been reading the older posts and soaking up the knowledge here.
