greetings all-
2 quick questions about my 16 year old 700 BDL.
i just removed the "action and barrel" from the wood stock for the first time this week.
had to do some deep cleaning. everything went back together again perfect, except...
now i noticed that the rear of the gun, where the safety selector is, sits really low in the stock.
even sits below the wood, like it isnt flush with the edges of the wood. but i have no idea if it was
always like that, or just now since i removed and reinstalled it.
my father in law's ADL is perfectly flush.
also, the rear stock screw "slightly" pertrudes up into this area now, maybe 1 or 2 threads. it doesnt come close to scraping the bolt, but just doesnt seem normal... again, never paid close enough attention before to see if it was like that or not. the trigger housing on the bottom is set just fine,
and the wood around the chamber opening seems to line up, so i dont know. do yall know if some 700s are flush in the wood, and some sink in? or does this sinking into the wood need more attention???
thanks in advance for any help guys, im worried i screwed up an awesome stock!
2nd question- does anyone know if that dang supercell recoil pad can be put on a BDL wood stock?
cant get an answer on the BDL anywhere... thanks!

Welcome to the Remington Owners Forum SABERKBRAVO !!
I would take the firearm apart again and try to correct that problem...I'm sure you would have noticed it being that way in the past 16 years prior... The manufacturer of that dang supercell recoil pad should be able to answer your "fit" question...do they have a website...then they probably have a customer service. The BDL is a popular rifle, so the manufacturer might even have it listed on the packaging of the pad. |
