I was reading this post and have been following it. It surprises me that Remington is not doing a better job with this. I have a R1 and Love it. CS sent me a new lower sight with 0 problems to get my POA in the correct spot. I like my R1 so well that I am getting ready to buy a R1 in stainless as soon as I can get my S&W 645 sold.
The only reason I am posting this, is I would really like to see Remington take care of this guy. A lot of people read this site, and this is his story, Luckily there is not to many of these stories out there for Remington. All though I would like to see a lifetime warranty added.
