Picked her up a few weeks ago...

5.56 FN SCAR 16s

Finally got out with it Saturday morning. The weather's been crappy lately and it's was driving me crazy just sit'n in the safe.

Took about five minutes to get the irons and Eotech zeroed at 25yds and then moved on out to do some work. Was shoot'n pretty quick with no bipod. Not my best work, but not bad for the first time out with the new rifle...

Here's the first group @ 100 yds...

...and the best 100 yd group out of the 500 rounds I sent down range...

This thing is an absolute dream to shoot! I was extremely impressed with the trigger. Light, short, smoothe, and I could feel the reset after every round. Muzzle rise and felt recoil were virtually non existent. The brake did a lot to reduce recoil, but it sure kicked the noise up quite a bit. I stood by and watched a fellow shooter send a mag down range with it and the thing sounded like a .44mag. I wish I'd had the time to put more than 500 rounds through it this morning, but it was a good start to the day. Can't wait to get back out with it...

My brother is looking to purchase one of these in the near future. I have yet to hear anyone say anything negative about this rifle.

I can't imagine why anyone would. It's an amazing piece of machinery!

If he does decide to pick one up make sure he knows about the aftermarket AR mag issue. The bolt carrier can get hung up and cause damage if using with certain mags. My Pmags took some slight modification before they were ready to use, but they all ran flawlessly afterward.

I added a Sightmark magnifier with flip-to-side mount behind Eotech on my SCAR...

I've become spoiled with magnification. I love Eotech products, but was not about to drop $500 on their magnifier. Mine is the Sightmark Tactical Magnifier. They are an excellent, more affordable alternative and come in 3x, 5x, and 7x magnification.

I found mine on sale for $100 at combathunting.com and ordered the flip-to-side mount direct from Sightmark.

That is a really sweet setup with your FN SCAR. I really like that flip-to-side mount.
