The owners manual doesn't say that the R1 will take a constant diet of other than 230gr 835 fps vel. Has anyone tried a constant diet of high velocity and wieght in their R1? The manual basically say see if it works. My Ruger SR1911 clearly staes use anything including +P and Hollow points, etc. Any opinion.

Thanks

Each firearm I own likes one type of ammo over all others and will shoot POA/POI.

Experimenting is half the fun...

Having said that, except for shooting my preferred HP carry ammo for function and to check where it hits, I basically stick to FMJ for the range. +P is not something I run through my firearms with regularity.

Thanks for the info. My concern is that the R1 clearly staes the ammo spec's it was designed for as opposed to the Ruger SR1911 which states, +p, Hollow point, etc is fine.
