I have Timneys in both my 700's.

I have them breaking at a crisp 2lbs.

I prefer a nice crisp trigger so I know exactly when it is going to break.
I had the Factory trigger as light as it could go, but I prefer the wider Timney trigger design.

I am going to give the Remington X-Mark Pro a try with my 700 AAC-SD but I do want to try the Timney.

I'm not a big fan on the x-mark. I tried my friends 700 vlss .223 with the non-externally adjustable x-mark.

Compared to my old style (I think.... Ribbed trigger shoe?) it is poop. My old style is clean, crisp, light. His feels heavier and kind of mushy in comparison.

Neither are tuned at all.

I also would like to try the timney

I have 2 Timney's.
I find them great.

They are a nice Flat trigger to get a nice precise feel

Only shot my 700 BDL once but it occurred to me that it might have been more accurate if the trigger pull was lighter. Don't know what year my BDL is, but there is no adjustment for the trigger and the bolt can not be removed.

I have a rifle basix 1.5-4 # pull. The bolt release would not reach the bolt stop on the action. Emailed basix and they are sending a new bolt release and the 5/32 ball for the safety that I lost while messing with the trigger. Great customer service. Not so great instructions in how to adjust the trigger. No adjustment instructions were included with the trigger. Timney straight trigger on order from midway

I run a Timney 510 in my XHR (ditched the XMP). I have the original 3-screw triggers in both of my 700P's, my 700 Classic, and I don't know what's in my 770.

In spite all the negative comments about the X-mark Pro I have read, mine is fine.

Has anybody tried one of the TriggerTech drop in triggers yet? I have ordered one today and will post my opinion after testing. http://www.triggertech.com/rem-700.html

My 700 trigger got replaced with a x mark pro, after a bit of tuning it feels and performs really nice. Not as nice as the Jewell in my 243 but still very nice for a factory trigger

I had the xmp in my 700 until the recall last year. Since Remington wasn't going to pay for remounting or bore sighting the scope that had to be removed for shipping, I decided to spend a little extra money and install a Timney instead. I put a trigger pull gauge on the xmp when it was adjusted as low as it would go and it was more in the 4-4.5 lb range. The Timney easily adjusted to around 2.5 lb. One issue I had is that either the aftermarket stock (H-S Precision) or the new trigger causes the bolt release to stick in the release position so it's at the gunsmith getting checked out.

I'd also note that Winchester's MOA trigger wasn't possible to adjust as light as it's advertised to go either. For a hunting rifle, and considering the price, Timney triggers are hard to beat.
