Hello ! My name is Mike, and I own a Remington 700, 308, 26 inch heavy barrel, and have a Nikon 308 scope on it. I went into the US Marine Corps May 1968, Vietnam Dec 1970, Iwakuni Dec 1975, and a few other places. I served for 10 years. Needless to say, I like to shoot firearms. I joined this group to learn more about modifying my Remington 700. First thing I want to modify is exchanging the plastic stock for a wood stock and change the trigger guard so I can use a box magazine. It's a hassle loading with the scope. I also understand there is a recall on the trigger mechanism and I want to correct that. I've been married for 48 years, we have 3 sons and 7 grandchildren. That's the short version!

Welcome Mike. Glad to see your a Rem. fan. Also own a 700 but mine has a 22 inch sporter hunting barrel with walnut. Your might check with Boyd's for a stock or one of the other makers. Welcome aboard.
