As far as your question:
The Remington Model 7400 is a series of semi-automatic rifles manufactured by Remington Arms. The Model 7400 was a replacement of the Model 740 rifle which Remington produced from 1952 to 1981.The 7400 model was ultimately replaced by the Model 750 in 2006. The Model 7400 was introduced in 1981 and was basically the same as the Model Four. Major differences included an checkered pistol-grip and straight comb stock. Initially only offered with a 22 inch barrel, and in 1988 an 18 inch carbine version was introduced. The Carbine version of the Model 7400 Carbine was manufactured from 1988 to 2004... |

Yes Thank you for responding;
Remington's not making any semi-automatics now for some reason. I want to update the insurance on my guns so I wanted to get a value on this one. I can get a lot of info on these in the rifle version in 280 rem. but in any of the gun value books I have access to don't have any reference to the 7400 Carbine in 280 Remington. I like the older guns a lot more than the newer ones. |

Prices can vary from $400-$550 depending on condition I read on one of them. Got a mint Model Four in 270 Win. Prices seem to be around the same or maybe a tad more. Made around 68,000 Model Fours from 81-87. Hope you have had good luck with your 7400 with no issues. If I findout how many carbines were produced I will provide the info.
