Recently purchased a Sec Gen R51. Functioned fine but shot 12 to 15 inches low at 15 yards at bench rest. Used different ammo. I realize the 51 is not a target pistol but I do expect any hand gun to hit a beer can at 15 yards. Called Remington Customer Service. They stated it may be the dove tail cut for the front site was not cut correctly and suggested I send it in for repair.
UPS picked up the R51 on Dec 14 2016 in Oklahoma. Received at repair location about 12-21-16- Marks Outdoors Birmingham Al.
UPS delivered the repaired R51 to my door on 12-30-16.
The slide had been replaced. I had marked my old slide so I could tell if replaced.
Went to range and shot dead on at 15 yards.
As we all know the R51 has had its problems.
The quality of service by Remington Customer Service and Mark's Outdoors gunsmith service plus the great turn around time - even over Christmas -was very good. No complaints only complements on the repair service.
