Who here reloads for their RM 380? I tried a 'middle of the road' load with some 95 gr fmj bullets and 2.7 gr of Win. 231 and got a pierced primer, one smiley, flattened and cratered (firing pin hole sheared off the cratered part) and excessive recoil. That loading shows as starting loads in some manuals. Back to the drawing board, I guess reloading is trial and error.

My favorite load is a 100 gr x-treme bullet on top of 4 gr of Ramshot Silhouette powder. Runs with no problems in my RM380. Have also loaded some Hornady XTP for self defense but don't have the load right handy. Will have to look it up.

It seems like my RM 380's lower functioning threshold is 2.4 gr of 231 with the 95 gr fmj bullet. That is not very far from the too hot 2.7 gr, but it is a fairly small case.

My load for the Hornady 95 gr XTP bullet is 4 gr Ramshot True Blue powder. Both loads come from Western Powders load data booklet.

I'll have to try that load in my Wife's RM. I have shot 3.2 gr of Unique under a 148 HBWC in 38 Spl. in my Python for years as target ammo with great results. I have taken several matches with that combo.

I really like my RM380 and I can rack the slide, unlike some of my other guns.
