Im getting ready to box up my RM-380 and send it back to Remington to get the barrel replaced. Does anyone know how their customer service is with turn around time? I purchased a glock 42 to carry while I wait to get this one back but I hate to have to wait weeks on end for it.

I would ask customer service...

I was hoping to get a real answer from someone who had actually had to deal with customer service. The 5 times I have had to call them over this ordeal has kinda left me less than willing to deal with them. I thus far haven't been impressed with how they treat their customers.

I had several dealings with them when I had issues with my 2010 versamax..... Never had to send my gun back but they did have to send me parts..... Was very quick, 3-4 days and the parts where at my house.....

Thanks for the reply Assault, maybe they won't have it more than a couple weeks.

The real answer is that no one here would know the true turn-around time but Remington themselves...but, if you want guesses...be my guest.

What's wrong with the barrel...?

What did they say the last 5 times ?

The first time they denied any problems with the barrel. The second phone call they requested pictures, third phone call they didn't have time to look at the pictures I sent and decided to hang up on me, fourth phone call I finally got someone who said they would set up a return label for the gun and the fifth phone call was to give them the my correct address because after giving it to them 5 times they still had it wrong.

As for the barrel look at the attached photo and notice how rough the rifling is. Also it seems that Remington isn't even the ones handling the repairs but a place called Mark's outdoor sports in Huntsville Alabama.

Just a quick follow up, I got a postcard in the mail from Marks outdoor sports today that states it should be about 2 weeks turn around for my repair. I have to say the follow up was a welcome surprise.

Sounds like so far so good. Two weeks is not bad.

I have to admit the two weeks isn't anywhere near as long as I was expecting, had I known it was going to be that short of a time frame I would have just carried my Bersa and not bought the little Glock 42.

I got my gun back from Remington yesterday, I have to say I started this whole endeavor with a lot of buyers remorse because of how my dealings with Remington's customer service started out but they got my gun fixed and got it back to me quickly. I took it out to the shooting range and ran 100 rounds through it without a hiccup and shot some fairly impressive groups with it. In the end I am extremely happy with the gun and with Remington for getting it fixed and back to me so quickly.

I have to admit I was very shocked to find I was as accurate with the Rm380 as I was with the Glock 42. With the Galloway springs in it the trigger is quite manageable. Also I have to say the Rm380 is much easier to pocket carry.

I wanted to do a little follow up with my little RM380. My wife and I have take 4 .380s to the range in the last week and a half (Glock 42, Ruger LC380, and a Kahr .380) out of all these guns the RM380 has been the most accurate and the only one that hasn't had functional issues. The RM is also the easiest to rack, it might not have the lowest recoil but I am going to start strongly recommending it to anyone looking for a small carry weapon. I am so glad I gave Remington a shot to get mine right. I am also hoping that the RM9 is in the works.

I will be taking mine back to the range this week. Testing more ammo. It's been 100 % reliable so far.

So far mine has been 100% with about 250 rounds total of 5 different brands. It has became my pocket gun of choice. I am hoping that Ruger will get my wifes LC380 working as reliably as the little RM380 does so I can trust it for her carry pistol.

Hello jd10ac. I was wondering if you could post a picture of your new barrel's rifling to compare it to the original picture? I just purchased an RM380 and would also like to compare the pictures to my barrel as I feel my rifling may not be the best either. Thanks.

MLB78, I cant get a picture today but I will try my best to get you one tomorrow. The rifling still isn't what I would call top quality but it is much better than it was and given the way it shoots I can't complain.

Cool. Thanks. Here are a few pics of mine. It's hard to get a decent pic. Maybe it isn't as bad as I think?
