So I recently purchased a versa max sportsman. I wanted to have an everything hunt type shotgun. I'm trying to mount a scope on it for deer season and the rail "Redfield" for a Remington 870, Two pieces, is giving me problems. the rails match up with the holes, but the screws keep falling out. Even tho I've put blue 242 loctite on them. I've seen that picatinny makes a rail for the versa max. The longer screws with the 870 rail have scratched the top of the barrel slide. My question is should I just by the rail made for the versa max? Or any advice?

sounds like the screws you have are not the correct diameter for the holes in your receiver or more likely the two piece rail is not conforming to the VM receiver top and therefore you can never get it tight.
It is my opinion that if you continue to try to make it work you will damage the screw holes in the VM receiver top.
Weaver makes a very good one piece rail that fits the VM nicely. I have not seen or used the one from picatinny so I can't help you there, but it is always best to get a part that is "made" for your specific firearm.
Good luck and welcome to the forum!
