I am not a shotgun expert so excuse my non technical terms. I have a Remington 887 Nitro Mag with the 28" barrel. Ever since I got it, it has had a hard time locking up to fire. I can run through the entire tube without hitting the release button unless I slam the fore-end really hard forward. And I mean pretty hard. I am a pretty strong guy but it is hard for me to cycle the gun while holding a cheek weld (only about 50% of the time I can do it) trying really hard. I would like to start shooting skeet (for fun) but as of right now I just want to get this thing locking up easily. I am starting my classes again so I don't have a lot of time to look into it. Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks Shooter13 I guess I'll just start looking into how everything works and hope I can figure it out.

Did you try removing the action support if you have one.. I had the same issue and I have the same model as you. After reading several postings in the 887 section on how to correct the issue, i went ahead and removed the action support and did a super duper cleaning on every part ..TWICE.. No issues since.
