Does anyone use shooting support during hunts. Shooting stick, tripod, bi-pod, mono pod, adjustable, fixed, and or customs. How about color variations and material type. Or do you use just the sling or nothing at all..... Myself I have a bi-pod on my 700- 300 win mag for long distance prone. Can't decide what to get for my new 783- 30.06 I'm leaning towards a fixed standing shooting stick.

I've used shooting sticks in the past...but only when the shots were long and no other brace was available.

Looking to get a set of shooting sticks for my daughter and son. Bern looking at some by polecat at my local LGS. Probably going to buy a set today. I'll let you know how we like them.

I have a pair of shooting sticks, but I usually forget them on hunts. My area has so many trees that there is almost always a ready-support available.

I'm still looking I will be doing a lot of open range hunting so I think it will be a must. Looking more towards a bi pod adjustable stick nealing to standing. I would just like to try and make one I just don't know how I would do a rapid adjustable legs with a shock support.

My two-legged shooting sticks are little more than beefy collapsible bungee-cord-type tent poles. Three segments, I think, and you adjust them by taking one segment out of the straight-alignment. In truth there's only HI-MED-LOW adjustable. A camera tripod/bipod would give you more adjustment, but would be noisier and heavier with those sliding legs.
