i just bought a 770 in 30-06 and was hoping to put a muzzle break on it. is it just a matter of threading the barrel?

Welcome to the Remington Owners Forum !!

Both Brownells and MidwayUSA have great instructional videos on what adding a muzzle break entails...

if you want to ad a brake the easiest way to get clamp on brake. i have had my kahntrol brake now for 2 years on my 300 win mag and i can't believe how great it is. go to kahntrol.com and look up your rifle easy as that. i just ordered 3 more because they work so well and no gunsmithing. i have one for my 770 300 wm another same model brake for my 700 300 wm and one on my 243 sps v and a thread on on my 223 for looks. ill post a link to a couple vids of mine on youtube if you are interested.
