I have a Remington Shotgun marked Sportsman, it is a 12ga I purchased around 1990. It has a serial number of N951672V. When I look at some of the info on the web it says N means 1993. Can any one advise me about the serial Number.

the "N" in the serial number does not mean 1993. You are confusing the barrel code letters with trying to interrupt the serial number. look on the left side of the barrel very near the receiver and you will find two letters stamped into the barrel. What are they? the "N" prefix in Remington serial numbers was used on model 1100's from 1978 thru 1984. the "V" suffix indicates that it is a 12 gauge with a 2 & 3/4" standard receiver. We have done so much for so long with so little, we are now qualified to do anything with nothing!
