Hello everyone. I just inherited a Remington 1900 (about 1905 or so by the serial number). It has a good amount of rust but not alot of deep pitting from what I can see. The wood is in good condition for it's age, just a few dings but no cracks from what I can see. I plan on cleaning it up to make into a wall hanger. From the research I've done I can do the job myself without damaging the metal. The gun does not have a damascus barrel and actually it has an "F" marking which signifies it a "trap" gun from my research. Any good advice or tips out there to ensure success in my venture.....Thanks.

Here is a whole weeks worth of reading with some great info from the Civilian Marksmanship Program (the folks who bring you surplus M1 Garand Rifles) on cleaning and/or refinishing old stocks. This is good stuff if you want to go thru it.
