Just three quick questions for you gentlemen. Proud owner of the synthetic VM and just recently got my paws on a Tactical model, couldn't really say no after the success I've had with the synthetic for skeet (though the midbead did fall out somehow while shooting).

In a nutshell, this platform is phenomenal. I did a ton of research prior to getting em' and my buddy said wonderful things about his.

But I don't need to tell you guys that

My question for the Tactical (not-competition edition) is:

1. My VM Tactical is quite new, I got it only a few month ago. I've heard a lot of people saying that when shooting slugs POI is normally 4-6ish inches off of POA and this is for two reasons: misaligned sights and the magazine tube.

Near as I can tell, the sights are aligned correctly (if there's a much quicker way of finding this out accurately I'm all ears).

Is the magtube\clamp issue pretty much universal? If so, what do you guys think of the Carbon Arms Versa Tube? I'd need to find a gunsmith to install it, but I've been considering it.

I will be shooting this one soon, issue is finding a decent enough range to put some slugs down range at respectable distances.

Obviously shooting it will confirm\deny it, I'm just trying to set expectations and accumulate knowledge.

2. Nowhere on the net or on Remington's site can I find if the Tactical model has nickel, trinyte and teflon coating for the internals\barrel. I'm guessing it has it, but I was just curious since it wasn't listed.

3. Any modifications you guys would recommend? Bolt release? Charging handle? Something I haven't thought of?

I'm thinking of getting it cerakoted and slapping a Deltapoint 2 on it (when they release).

Thank you for letting me join! Love these guns, I was floored to see a semiauto that super reliable.

On that note, some of you may be interested to hear that I was able to load cheap ammo more reliably than my friends pump shotguns (all three are Benellis). One of them gave me his box of the stuff, over 100 rounds because of all the foul ups it was causing for his gun.

Mine only had a single issue with the stuff, and that was a bad primer.

Sorry it took so long. Had to take the pics and then scaled them down in Photoshop.

Just ordered the standard sling plate, tactical charging handle and bolt release from G&GG here:

For the tactical, of course. :D

Do you happen to know about the tactical having coated components like the regular and tactical competition models?

I honestly do not remember. I only bought it a few months ago or so, but I cannot recall.

I don't believe it has the coatings! If I remember correctly, it's just like the sportsman since the tactical wasn't built for bad weather conditions.
