I was given a Remington 700 LH 30-06. I have no clue of the year or the value. The rifle is in great condition. Are the left handed worth more?
Serial begins with A6488xxx

Welcome to the Remington Owners Forum !!
The Model 700 series of firearms are bolt-action rifles manufactured by Remington Arms from 1962 to the present day. The number of model variants is only surpassed by the number of different cartridge chamberings. And yes, and LH does command a premium price from a left handed shooter. Remington Model 700 Serial Number Lookup: Remington Firearms manufactured after 1921 have a code located on the left side of the barrel near the frame that identifies the year and month of manufacture. B - Jan L - Feb A - Mar C - Apr K - May P - Jun O - Jul W - Aug D - Sep E - Oct R - Nov X - Dec http://www.guncollectionsonline.com/rem ... del700.htm |

Thank you for your reply. All I good find on the barrel was WO90. Any idea what that means?
Thanks |

I'll hazard a guess in my very limited experience. I would see the date code, from the left side of the barrel, as WO. This would be month/year, so August / 1977 or 1994. I hope that helps. If I am incorrect, please inform me. Looking at the A in the serial number, it is likely the earlier year. You might have an August/1977 rifle.
