I just purchased an absolutely beautiful model 760 pump in .35 Remington. this is one of the "newer" models that were mfr'd just before the 7600 came into being. It clearly has not been used hardly at all and appears to be pretty much brand new even though it was mfr'd in the late 70's. Upon loading and inserting the magazine, I was horrified to find that the round jammed the very first time I racked the gun! Subsequent attempts were met with various degrees of success, sometimes the 2nd or third round would jam. The seem to get "caught" in the magazine and don't pop up far enough to be shoved into the chamber. I have NOT shot the gun yet, I'm just cycling the rounds using the release on the bottom of the gun. Now i am terrifed that I have bought the most expensive single shot gun in the world..... Is this a common problem with this model? Is there a fix? What can you suggest? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

i had the same problem with my 7600 270 and bought a new magazine and it solved all my issues. i was young and dumb and used to leave the mag loaded all year long and there was not enough spring pressure to function properly. i hope this helps i also have a 35 in a 760 so if you are able to find a mag for it i would like to know where you found it so i can have an extra
