I have a 870 12 ga. Wingmaster that in my opinion needs the stock and pump refinished. I've been told by a person who is quite verse in a lot of different guns. He says the gun should remain "as is". I want to replace the barrel because it has been cut down with a hack saw I think and the stock has slot of scratches. I am thrilled with the gun other than those two topics. Your responses are welcomed.

Please do not take umbrage to the following...

Its an 870! There has been over 10 million of them made! Not like its a one of a kind...

Id replace the barrel and put new wood on it or refinish it, your choosing!

Then shoot the thing like there's no tomorrow!

Have fun with the project!

870shooter, thanks for your candid response. I feel the same way concerning the 870, but this other man, a life long friend has been trading, buying, selling, collecting weapons all of his life. I have a lot of respect. Again thanks, I'm going to tear into it.
