Just got an 887. Disassembled to oil and inspect. The owners manual indicates that there is supposed to be an action bar support near the action bars. Mine does not have this. Did Remington take this part out? Pg. 19 says that it is only used to aid in assembling the bolt and action bars into the receiver.
Let me know. Thanks
Brian

Hi There! My first post on the new forum. Logged in for just this topic.
Consider yourself lucky that you didn't have the Action Bar Support. My gun shipped with it installed. I had numerous Jams. I cycled high brass, low brass, different shot size, different shell length, cleaned the gun twice, disassembled and re-assembled. Nothing worked. I decided I'd take one more whack at it, following in the manual as usual. I disassembled, and re-assembled. This time, I chose to not install the Action Bar Support. Took my gun out, and it cycled way way better. Still haven't had a jam. Nothing but impressed with it. Pass the word on to completely throw away that little "action bar support" I bet it would remedy a lot of the complaints against this beautiful, tough & capable Remington! |
