I have a 1100 that I believe is a late 1970's model. It has not been shot for roughly 25 years. Its been stored in a gun case in the basement. Just wondering if it would be safe to shoot without a trained eye inspecting it over first?

It should be fine, however it never hurts to get a professional eyeball opinion.
Off the top of my head the only thing I could think it would need is a cleaning and lubrication of moving parts, especially the moving parts under the forearm and the grooves inside the receiver.
Check to make the barrel is clear of any obstruction, load a round and have at it!

oh....one more thing; make sure to match the ammo you use to exactly what is written on the barrel.
