Sorry my pic quality isn't better...cell phone pics.
Spent some time over the Labor Day long weekend doing a camo paint job on my synthetic 700 stock.
Did my research prior to starting and also spoke with a friend of mine who does custom paint and refinishing work on gunstocks as a sideline business. I was careful to prep the stock with alcohol and mask off the vulnerable spots carefully. I was careful not to knock over my beer(s) either...

I used ultra flat Krylon camouflage paint...it worked very well. I did 3 base coats of the olive and many (at least 6-8) coats of camo, using 4 colors. The overall pattern (totally randomn really) was achieved by patiently layering it, adjusting the foilage I was using for my patterns and covering it up with light over-sprays of opposing light and dark colors. Drying time between coats is definitely needed and the lighter the spray the quicker it dries of course.
I was really nervous at first but after the first coat....well it doesn't matter much then!

It turned out better than I expected with the soft, muted look I was hoping for. I didn't want a stark camo pattern. To finish it off, my friend baked on a matte clear-coat for me which sealed it up nice and gave it that professional look and feel.
