I own a few Smith & Wesson handguns, but my sweetest one is this Model 520 "N" Frame .357 Magnum w/ fixed sights. There were only 3000 of these built. They were built to satisfy a special order for the New York State Police in 1980, but before they shipped, N.Y.S.P. cancelled their order. The weight of this pistol was the reason for the cancellation. So, S&W made them available to the public. This is NOT the 2nd 520 7-shot pistol that people confuse it with. This is the all-blue, fixed sight, 6-shot "N" Frame. This pistol found me while I was shopping for a wheel gun at a very large gun shop here in Houston as I was just leaving. I didn't find what sparked my fancy, so I started for the door when some fella from the back hollered at me and asked, "Hey sir, did you see this one? It just came in and I just finished inspecting it before putting it out for display." That fella was the head gunsmith and knew how particular I am about my firearms as he has overheard my discussions with one of the sales guys there several times. He handed it to me and I knew that was exactly what I was looking for. It was a factory-fired plus maybe a box of 20 without papers or the box. I said, "Sell it to me now." I handed Brian my card and after he did the transaction, I asked him, "How much?" He laid my ticket down for me to sign as he said with an evil grin, "You don't need to know how much." I added a couple hundred rounds of .357 Mag, .38 SPL, and a few +P ammo. I'll close this post and see if I can figure out how to post a picture of it. I'm not a computer guru. |

Thanks. I wish she was NIB, but then I'd have to find another one to shoot or always fight the temptation to shoot her. But, I don't have any "safe-queens" anyway since I'm a 'shooter' and not a 'collector'. |

Yea...I shoot EVERY gun I collect !! Life is too short to have "safe queens"... | |

I suppose it would be like getting a "new" car or boat and never taking it out for a spin. Documents, diamonds, gold, and 'saved' cash is what belongs in the safe anyway. And excess ammunition in the event of a fire. |

Only one I got now is the third generation CS-9 Chief Special in stainless which is a keeper. hogue wrap-around grip and it is concealable. Feeds and ejects well with most ammo tried. no more trading or buying for me.
