I've got the LTR .308 with a do it yourself camo pattern, Super Sniper 10X (later going to get a Leupold Mark 4 LR/T), and Harris Bi-Pod.

I've only taken it out to 300 yards once, knocked down the LaRue Targets every time! I can't wait to take it to 500 yards.

To be honest it was just a transition scope so I could actually shoot the rifle and once I got enough money I would upgrade to the Leupold Mark 4 LT/R. But I've come to like this scope so much that I've used the money that I was going to get the Leupold with to pursue other gun projects.

For the price the Super Sniper is hard to beat. I am pleasantly surprised at just how well the scope has preformed. I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again.

Nice LTR!

That's good to hear on the scope. I've bought a couple scopes for the same reason that I ended up sticking with in the same way. I always tell myself that I'm gonna upgrade later, but I ALWAYS end up finding another gun I'd rather have instead. If I can punch out the bull with inexpensive glass I'm good to go...

I like the camo pattern. Could you tell us more about how you did it?

Unfortunately I am not talented enough to do a camo pattern. I bought the rifle from a good friend and his gunsmith did all the work on the rifle plus the camp pattern.

What he told me about how to do a camo pattern like that is to first formulate an idea of what type and kind of camo you want. Then practice on some cardboard until you have what you like then try tackling the rifle itself. Beyond that I couldn't help you... sorry

good afternoon all. hopefully there's an easy answer to this - I'm looking at Remington 700's and am reviewing on line before pursuing in a store, but am hoping for easy translation of the abbreviations Remington uses, i.e. CDL, SPS, BDL, etc. Is there a cheat sheet for those?

Pictured below is my Remington Model 700BDL chambered in 7mm Rem Mag with a 24" barrel.
It features a high-gloss American walnut stock that is enhanced by a distinctive black fore-end cap, Monte Carlo comb with raised cheekpiece, and generous skipline cut checkering.

Image

The 700BDL is a manually-operated bolt action with 2 forward dual-opposed lugs and a rear safety lug formed by the bolt handle lug sitting in a receiver recess. The bolt face is recessed, fully enclosing the base of the cartridge, and the extractor is a C-clip sitting within the bolt face. The ejector is a plunger on the bolt face actuated by a coil spring. The bolt is of 3-piece construction, brazed together (head, body and bolt handle). The receiver is milled from round cross-section steel. Depending on caliber, the internal magazine holds either 3, 4, or 5 cartridges and has a flush floor plate for quick unloading. The rifle can also be ordered with a detachable box magazine.

Classic
SPS
ADL Synthetic
Sportsman 78

I think I need some sort of Tac rifle... thinking about another SPS V in .308, or a 700P, or a Milspec 5R, or an XCR Tactical Long Range. Probably end up with the SPS, then order a McMillan stock, a Jewell trigger, and maybe get 2-3" cut off the barrel. Just because I like to do things the hard way.

This is my Zombie shooter. 700 AAC SD . Bolt action is slicked, trigger 2.75 lbs , CORETAC muzzle brake, Stock pac, Bushnell 6500 tac 4.5x30x50, Harris rotate base with Tank Knob and Quick lever. It loves most 168 match BTHP with sub MOA no prob. I have gone 400 with it as is, but It needs about a 20MOA base for more distance.

Thought I was on the wrong forum... lots of familiar names from over at mossberg owners!

Anyway, mine's a 700P in .308, love it to death.
