Hey all,

First time on the forum here. I'm hoping to get some help. I just recently was given a 783 in .270 which has a small rattle in the grip portion of the stock. I'm assuming it's a piece of plastic in there. I've taken the recoil pad off and disassembled the stock to try and find it. Unfortunately I think it's in the cavity of the grip portion.

My question is, if I remove the Remington logo cap off of the bottom of the stock will I be able to put it back in? Not sure if it snaps in or is glued, and I want to be able to put it back in place. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

I'm having a hard time sighting in my 308 Winchester 783 short action, I stood 12 feet away after shooting a box of ammo took a shot it went 6 feet to the lower left. I'm using weaver #35 bases, weaver quad lock with an offset so I can see clearer thru my tasco silver antler 3-9x scope, any advice?
Oh yah I had a sand bag under the fore stock, looking to buy a bipod also

Has anyone had issues with softstrikes on the 783 30-06 .

I have cleaned everything in the bolt. Out of 40 rounds 8 end up soft strike .

I'm not sure what to do to fix this issue. I have checked the firsing pin for rub marks and nothing. T

his happens more on warmer days then colder days.

Any help would be great thanks in advance
