Could anyone help me with a Rem 887 that fails to fire if the forearm has some rearward pressure on it? The firing pin will only slightly strike the primer, but not with enough force to light it up. I can see that the bolt has some front to back play. Is there a fix?

Is the barrel seated fully in the chamber? I'm only just grasping at straws...

The barrel is seated and tight. Remington is going to replace the bolt assembly under warranty, it is a common problem the repair tech told me.

The remington repair center replaced trigger assembly and bolt assembly. It works great.

Hi VMAX, how is the 887 after some time with the new parts? I bought two of them last weekend for my wife to use. The supercell pad on these makes it something I may just keep for myself! One is the tactical and the other is a regular long barrel black model. I bought two so she would only have to learn on weapon for HD and Cabin use. I think I will call remmie and get the new parts for both. Is there anything specific I should tell them for better assistance?

Thanks....
