I just picked up a rifle that I purchased on gunbroker.com and was wondering if anyone could give me some info on the type of model 700 it is? The rifle looks exactly like a late model 700KS with the light gray kevlar stock. It is a ADL type rifle and is in 300 WM. The rifle is very lightweight and has a nicer matte finish than found on the SPS models. The bolt is black and not jeweled. The serial number is S621XXXX with EM stamped on the left side of the barrel. Thanks for any help on my questions.

Since there has been many different models made and different special editions, I think your best bet it to just give Remington a call with your serial number and they will tell you everything about it.

DoubleTap,

I contacted Remington today to get some info on my rifle. I gave them the serial number and all they were able to tell me was that it was made in 1992 and it was a 300 win mag. I have to say I was a little disappointed in the little info I got. Oh well, I guess I will just have to settle for that and enjoy the rifle. I was told that all KS models are stamped with Remington custom shop on the top of the barrel and this rifle doesn't have that so it must be a regular model 700 ADL which someone put a KS stock on. I have never seen any other model of Remington with this style of stock besides the KS. I believe that the KS stocks are made by McMillan. The barrel is free floated so I am hoping that it will be very accurate.

Is there any chance that you could post up some pictures for us to view? I will do some digging and see if I can find any further information out for you. Eventually we will get to the bottom of this for you.

Lazy eyed sniper,

Thanks for the tip. I followed the instructions but my picture is setup as a JPEG format and when I go to paste all I get is the word jpegimg, no picture. Is there a different way of posting an JPEG picture? Sorry for my computer lameness, I am of the old school pre-computer age. Thanks

Do you have a photobucket account or any other photo sharing account. If you don't just create one, there free to join. Once you have done that upload your pictures there. After they are uploaded the pictures will have some sort of share option and from there you copy the link they give you and past that. Let me know if this helps, if not I can try and explain it differently.

This is my first attempt at photo bucket. I wasn't able to add more photos. Hope this helps. The stock is definitely a KS stock. Thanks for the help.

Thanks lazy eyed sniper. By the looks of the action, what do you think it is? The rifle appears to be new and unfired. The rifle is in excellent shape. There is glare coming off the bolt handle from the flash. No wear marks of any kind.

Looks like a great find.

I'm guessing you're right on the money. It looks to me like an ADL that someone most likely swapped out the factory wood stock for the KS.

I was noticing that most model 700's are stamped "Remington Arms company" and the caliber of the rifle on the barrel. This rifle only has "300 WIN MAG" stamped on the barrel in very small print. The finish on the barrel matches the finish on the receiver. Has anyone seen just a caliber stamp on factory barrels or is this indicative of rifles produced during a certain time period? Thanks.
