I have been looking for several years for a good triple deuce. This week the deal came around. The 222 REM has always been one of the best rounds ever, i was happy to get a fine example for my safe.
If you can't sell it don't buy it

1981 BDL chambered in 25-06 rem.
Still my favorite rifle to this day! We have done so much for so long with so little, we are now qualified to do anything with nothing!

I just purchased a remington model 700 22-250. I've located the barrel stamp indicating it's age, but am having a hard time figuring out which variant it is. If someone with some knowledge of this line of rifle would like to pm me, I have taken some pictures to help sort the matter.

Remington 700 SPS Tactical AAC-SD with Hogue Ghillie green stock, EGW 20MOA mount, Burris XTR 30mm rings, Sightmark 4-16x44 IR Mil-Dot scope w/ sunshade, Butler Creek covers, Harris bi-pod, YHM Phantom flash hider/Comp, Fox Outdoors stock pack, Tactical Component Mfg. Mag Xtender, KRG Bolt Lift and Viking Tactics VTAC sling. I want to upgrade the scope and bipod, but that's down the road.
 I have had several 700's over the years. My favorite was a 700 VLS with the nutmeg laminate stock. I bought it in .308 for $500 new back in the 90's. I really think if I had gotten that in .223 I would still have it. I have had two 700 ADL's (.270 Win and a .300 WinMag) that I converted to BDL's with factory bottom metal and Hogue pillar bedded stocks. I had a very nice older 700 BDL in .222 Rem. that was an absolute tack driver. I want to get another 700 of some configuration in .223 and one in .270 or .30-06. 3bdl's, 308,270 and a 223 that started life as a 17 rem. back in the '70's. there have been more, but these are the ones I kept. The 308 and the 270 are left-hand

Just got it today, 700 ADL in .308. Just reading on accurizing, but haven't even shot it yet. No .308 to be found. But I have some 7.62X51 I understand I can shoot that, correct?

Being left handed I have 2 Lh bdl's 308 & 270. Also a bdl in 223 that started life in the 70's as a 17 rem.
I have had 2 other Lh's. a 30/06 I gave to my son and a 40X Palma rifle in 7.62. Sold that one when I gave up long range shooting. The 308 is great when you have a sizable stash of LC M852 |
