I was out after a deer at the weekend when we came across a herd of Feral goats.
I got this guy @229 yards in the neck with 150 grain Hornady SST Superformance.

Bigger than Average size Puck goat, rarely will a wild goat get much bigger horns, but I have shot bigger.
His coat was in average condition. Skin bald around his nose from head butting. |

Awesome shot Tack...both the kill and the picture !!

I can't say I've ever seen one of them. Nice shot!

Awesome! We certainly don't see those around here.
We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.-Ronald Reagan

We have goats like you guys have feral pigs. Although the Irish Feral Goat is closer to a true wild goat than any other goat most experts think. Every year in Kerry they have a Feral Goat Festival http://www.puckfair.ie/history.php That goat I shot is quite large, but some have huge Horns that measure 4' or more wide. They are famous for their smell, if you came home after a days hard work and had no deodorant your Wife might say you Stink like a Puck Goat ![]() |

That's a cool goat Tack. Is it good table fair? Do they have a season or is it open season all the time?
If you can't sell it don't buy it

Young goats less than 1 year are eaten by some. Older goats are dog food. Season is open as they are classed feral, like pigs state side. They were once farmed but have been feral for as long as living memory. They eat tree bark in planted forrests which gets them a bad rep. |
