Just thought I would share my views on my most recent purchase. For those considering a synthetic stocked rimfire with adj. trigger I would give this gun some consideration. First of all I was quite impressed with the non-chintzy feel of the stock which seems very sturdy and liked the glossy satin bluing on receiver and barrel. The Hi-Viz front sight is a nice touch which is usable but I mounted a scope on mine due to eyes not being perfect anymore. Accuracy is fantastic with CCI 40 grain Gamepoint and H.P. The18 inch barrel is a nice change which makes the gun very compact and manageable. Also very light to carry. For those interested in a light and handy rifle for varmints as well as making a great Survival rifle I would recommend a look.

Will try to get pic up in a bit. posted on Gun and Game forum in the rimfire section. Guns accuracy is great even with Bushnell rimfire glass. Like my full sized marlin 925M but this carbine size barrel makes a fun rifle.

I bought one of the RAR 22 lr's and it shoots fairly well, it is the rifle and not the compact. It wears a Nikon 22 lr 3-9x scope which i like very much.

Glad you are happy with it Steve. For the money $279 with tax not a bad purchase at all. Might spring the $20 for the longer stock module for a bit more length of pull but not shabby for a woods varmint rifle. Quite a bang out that 18 inch tube!

Hey guys just reviving my old thread on the R/A 22 mag Compact. I did opt for the standard length stock module which gives me another 1 1/4 inches of better LOP. Just recently scoped it with a Vortex Crossfire 2 scope which is 2x7--32. Glass clearer than the other cheaper scope I had on. Price of the scope was $129 from Optics Planet. Sticking with the CCI 40 grain H.P. Very happy with accuracy at 70 yards. Still browzing the shelves for a Rem 597 even with the feed issues. I know Ruger had a problem with their 10-22 magnum version too. Guess Savage A-22M may have solved the problem with the new bolt system.
