Hello all, I could use some help dating my shotgun. I have a wingmaster 870 Magnum 12 gauge. I tried using the online date codes but can't seem to match them up. Mine has 3 letters on the barrel. It's stamped "ULG". Anyone have any idea what year it might be? It was my grandfather's so I know it's older, around the 60's. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Would guess Feb., 1960 since 'U' doesn't compute. What's the serial number ?

They did not hit the one million mark until 1966. Does the gun have impressed checkering ? Since that is a Magnum receiver, does the barrel say "For 2-3/4" and 3" shells" ?

It only says 3" shells. 2 3/4 isn't marked. And yes it has a checkered grip on the slide and stock. I don't know if it's carved or pressed.
