So I have a Model 1100 that I'm having an issue with. It won't fully cycle properly. I can pull the bolt back, but when I push up the lifter, it doesn't go forward unless I manually pull the bolt back slightly, then it will slam shut. Same thing happens after Everytime I fire a shot too.

Here is a video for reference.

The carrier dog appears to be hanging up. When you press the release or a shell hits the carrier latch, it should drop and change the angle to release the action bar. Make sure the carrier dog attachment to the carrier is free and rotates easily, and check the dog and corresponding engagement surface for burrs and such. In fact I would make sure to clean all the holes and springs in the trigger group.

Well I checked the dog and connecting surfaces. They are clean and clear, not too much wear and tear. Moves freely, well oiled.

Probably a bent carrier latch. I hate to send someone buying parts when I cannot be sure but that's my best guess. You could try bending it forward some but you risk having it not hold the bolt back after the last round if you go too far. Those things are hell to get adjusted just right, that's why I would usually buy a new one.

I appreciate the info. I do believe I had a problem with the carrier latch. I had taken it down before and the carrier latch just fell out and I was told to tamp it back in.

The carrier latch is pinned to the carrier.
