Hey guys,
Going to zero my (new to me) 700 .30-06 and was wondering if there was any ammo recommendation you guys would use for a hunting rifle. I know it's better to keep to one load once you zero, so would welcome any suggestions you all have. If it matters, I plan on zeroing at 100 yards.
Thanks in advance for your help, as I'm still a novice with hunting rifles.

Well only rounds I put through my 700 have been the Remington Core-Lokt 150 grainers. Decent accuracy for a lower priced bullet. Plenty of choices in premium ammo out there but the Core-Lokts do well for my shots which seldom exceed 75 yards. Premium bonded are good in some cases though. Hope yours is a walnut stocked with the good old high polish bluing.

TexShot, buy ammo with all boxes showing the same lot number (inside flap on ends). That way you know you have same lot of propellant, same lot of primers and loaded on same machine. Depending on manufacturer, some change lot number when one componant changes (i.e. new lot of propellant) or at each shift change. So to insure repeatability get enough ammo for several seasons at one time. Best stored in GI ammo can.
You will generally get better results utilizing handload ammo insofar as smaller groups are concerned.
