Been to the range twice with my RM 380 and it is an awesome 380 compared to my other two. I now have 400 rounds down range. As I was cleaning it I noticed an unusual wear on the part where the barrel meets the RM380 receiver. There is no other sign of contact anywhere else. Any idea why this is happening. Picture provided. Thank you.

No, what does it appear to be rubbing against?
When people ignorant of guns make gun laws, you end up with ignorant gun laws.
-Me Now I know they're not so ignorant and it's ATRRITION |

The Barrel is the only metal that sits on it and it has absolutely no sign of wear at all. The slide has no sign of contact. When the slide goes back after firing the barrel remains in place so there shouldn't be any rubbing at all. Weird. I sent Remington an email to see what they have to say.

Wow. Don't you feel that it is an unusual amount of wear on your gun after 850 rds.

To me it seems like a lot of wear but I’ve seen others that look the same. I think there’s another post on it on this forum but it’s possible it’s on a different forum.
This is the only aluminum frame gun I own so I don’t know if it’s abnormal for a black painted aluminum frame to show it’s wear more so than a black polymer frame. I should send that picture to Remington and see what they say. |

Just received a MSG from Remington. They reviewed the photo's and they responded with and I quote "That appears to be just normal wear and tear right there". Off to the range for a few more hundred rounds before I backup carry it. This gun beats my SW Bodyguard 380 and Ruger LCP 380 and I really want to like it.
