I have a new 11-87 Compact 20 guage, doesn't have 20 rounds through it. although a bit stiff manually operating it, it works as it should. I bought a new Remington slug barrel for it and installed it. If I push it in deep enough to be able to put the foreend on, I can get the reciever to cycle manually. If I reinstall the original ventilated rib barrel all is ok. Any help is appreciated

So you're saying it won't cycle in auto with the slug barrel on? I don't have an 11-87 so let me do some digging.

Sounds like you just have a tight fitting barrel. Not all that unusual. Put the muzzle on a piece of cardboard on the floor and push down hard. That should do it.
What could have happened... did.

Except the OP's post seemed to imply the shotgun didn't cycle without assistance when the new barrel was fitted. That was my take.
