I have an unusual configuration of Remington Model 700. It is factory chambered in 8X57 JS Mauser, left hand bolt action in a gray/yellow laminated stock. I once read in "Rifle" magazine, back in the early 1990's,
that a Remington Distributor "William Hicks Inc" marketed rifles in this configuration in numerous metric calibers. Does anyone on this forum own a similar weapon or can they confirm the "William Hicks" connection.
Thanks,
Gary

Have not heard of that story, but sure would like more info. And pics of the rifle/stock.

I recall Remington made a special run of 700s in classic calibers quite awhile back. Someone else on Campfire forum had a rifle you describe in 8x57 with the same stock and said made for Hicks Inc back in 1991. Sounds pretty rare
