Remington used to (in the golden days) make a whole host of 22LR offerings: Viper, Thunderbolt, Yellow Jacket, Cyclone.... and they still list them on their website. But finding anything other than Golden Bullet or Thunderbolt has been a non-starter. Some dealers (MidwayUSA, Natchez) list the Viper, but getting any shipped to me is problematic. And nobody carries it in my area. Anybody able to find decent quantity of this ammo offering in their area?

Well, I managed to find one brick of Viper, on it's way to me now. I have no doubt the Remington is going to consolidate down to "just" Golden Bullets and Thunderbolt at some point, in their slow decline from greatness.

Yeah I recall running the Vipers and Yellow Jackets through my old 10/22. Fed well. Have not seen em recently in my travels.

The main rimfire that is available in my area also happens to be one of my favorites.

CCI standard, which being subsonic, works great for what I do and is generally consistent

I admit that I enjoy shooting cci quiet even more though especially in my suppressed bolt action and single shots. Not been able to find it locally in a while and going to have to order a brick or two.

I'm on a hunt to find what I can and lay in the stock that I think I'll need. There are lots of good 22LR stuff out there, CCI Stingers and Armscor Gold are two of my "other" favorites, but I guess I'm just pining for the Golden Days of Remington rimfire. That is, whithout paying GB retirement account-per-box costs. Plus, I have to ship here so HAZMAT fees add up.

Okay, in the last few minutes I've managed to secure 5 bricks of Yellow Jacket, and 2 bricks of Viper. That should see me probably until the end of my days considering how much 22LR stock I already have of other fodder. The internet be berry, berry guud to me....

awesome. I'm glad you were able to find some.

I couldn't tell you the last time I saw Remington rimfire ammo.

It bugged me that I didn't stock up when I should have. You always assume that things will always be the same in the short term. It appears that Remington has discontinued everything but Golden Bullet, Thunderbolt, and their target loads. So many places I went for Cyclone, Viper, Yellow Jacket, Game Loads et al all said "discontinued" yet Remington still lists them on it's website. So I spent more than I should have, but it's stuff that I wanted, and I'll forgo a few new toys for awhile otherwise.

You only go around once. Might as well be happy during your turn at it.

Im not sure what I expected from hyper velocity rimfire ammo.
In my lineup of rimfire rifles they didnt meet my expectations.
Tighter groups?
Longer range?
More distructive hits on critters?
I learned allot when I bought some yellow jackts on a prairie dog shoot with my favorite rifles that I once thought of as tack drivers.
I quickly learned my favorite rimfires couldnt stabilize the hyper velocity rounds.
Not even CCI hyper velocity.
What brand and model rimfires rifle would be suitable performers with Hyper Velocty rimfires?
