This is a new to me Remington 121 made in 1937.

When I got the rifle it did not have a breech bolt assembly.

Bought a stripped bolt. Then bought parts for the bolt from Numerich.

Here is the issue.
If the hammer is in the released position (like after firing) the rifle will never extract on the first try. To get the spent case to eject I rack the slide forward, then push the slide release, under the receiver, then rack the slide. Then it extracts the spent case like a champ.

Things I have done.
1. Ironed out the divot where it has been dry fired.

2. The claw is a new production claw from Numerich.

3. Extractor spring is a new production spring from Numerich.

4. Extractor plunger is new from Numerich.

I have found a different source for the spring (which looks like a detent spring from an AR15) and a Old stock Claw.

Is there any thing I should try?

Sounds like you're on the right path. I might gently polish the new claw, and lube it well to make sure it's functioning. If you have a couple of action proving dummies, rack them thru the action for an hour or so while watching TV, just to work the action components in together. And check on your extracted cartridges to see if perhaps the extractor isn't jumping over the rim unless it's from full-rack-back position. To me it sounds like the new extractor spring might be too tight.

I Think I may have figured out the problem

I filed the new extractor claw on the front edge so the angled outside of the chamber would not push the claw away from the lip of the cartridge.

After filling it gently it seems to grab the cartridge a little better.

Not really sure why using the slide release after the hammer strikes a cartridge is different then racking after the hammer comes down.

But it now works. I plan to take breech bolt apart and buff out the file marks. And put a little cold black on it.
