My new Galloway Precision Kydex holster arrived today. It is high quality workmanship at a fair price.
The holster has adjustable retention. It is convertible from IWB to OWB by switching the side the the retainer clip is on. That can be done in two minutes or less. It uses an Ulti Clip 3. The clip is amazing and will hold firmly no matter whether you attach it to a belt of directly to clothing. Added to my pocket holster it gives me pocket, IWB. OWB carry options. The holsternis a good addition at a good price.

That is Bummer. Some states are just absurd in their regulations. Here in PA it is like being in the Wild West compared to NY, NJ, MA, CA, WA etc

Sure can be. Always favored compact autos. At least I got my S&W CS-9. That one is a keeper especially when I see the prices on used ones. Big bucks often for any of the S&W Third Generations today. Guess the Tupperware is here to stay. Glad Remington and Sig still offering metal!

It really is. It is a shall issue state. If you pass the federal background and PA State Police background checks you will be issued a license. No requirement to prove need and no training requirement. |

I got the Galloway holster and had a retention problem. There is a rubber washer that squeezes the kydex together to hold the gun. With the washer in I can't tighten it enough to hold it. If I take out the washer it is too tight. I'm looking for a flatter washer to get the right tension. Otherwise it's a great little holster, especially if you want to clip it to beltless shorts or sweat pants. I like it a lot.

Cre8tors,
Yes, the retention is a bit loose out of the box. And I agree that it is the thickness of the washer. I cranked down on my really hard and it is fine, but I could not get it tighter is I wanted to. I am going to email Galloway and explain the problem. They really need a different washer in place. |

As mentioned in my post above, I contacted Galloway Tech Support and they replied within an hour. Ther suspect the problem is the wrong size washer (it is an O-ring). It is supposed to be 3/32 thick. They asked me to remove mine and send them a photograph of it. I removed it and checked its thickness using a precision magnified tool. Turns out to be only 1/16 inch thick, that is 1/32 under spec. That reduced thickness means the O-ring totally flattens out on tightening. I believe an extra 1/32 would make a meaningful difference. Just sent the info to Galloway. I will report how they reply.

Galloway is sending me a variety of retention washers to try for best results. I post the outcome after receipt and install. Must say Galloway customer service has been excellent in response time and service.

Received as verbal retention washers fro Gallowaybtoday. One improved the retintion. It was the same ID and ODnas the original one but it was consistent with th 3/32 thickness spec that Gaklloway calls for. The inferior one was 1/16 in h thick. Problem solved. Great service from Galloway.
