Name is Bruce, until Sept 18th of 2015 I lived just outside Middletown, North of the Napa Valley Wine Country.

On that date a Wildland Forest Fire swept through taking 1300 homes with it, mine being one.
Now, 18 months after the fire, after wading through all the cattle crap and lac of funds, I'm finally back on my property living in a 27ft 5th Wheel - but it feels good to be on my property again...

I'm a Native Son of the Golden West, and although I despise the politics here in Kalifornia, I love the State, and plan to stay.

About a year before the fire, I had taken all my firearms and stored them (except for one pistol - my old duty weapon) at a friends house, reason unimportant, and among those was my Dad's (RIP) Remington GameMaster 760BDL 30-06 Springfield Pump.

Good thing, had they been in the house, there would be nothing left of them, and my last remembrance of my Dad would be gone. It was said that the fire got close to 4000 degrees in places, steel puddled, glass liquefied and ran in small rivulets becoming a part of everything in it's path, trees a mile ahead of the main fireground exploded unexpectedly, in some places the movement of the fire was clocked over 60 MPH, anything softer than steel, tungsten and carbide ended up ash after a week of burning... Close to 78,000 Acres destroyed.

Got out with Dog, a few documents, a couple guitars, a few items that were in the van already, and the clothes on my back.

Everything else is gone, only the land remains, and a couple of the trees, but they are Black now...

Having a problem with the rifle now.

Round jammed in the chamber when I went out to check on Mountain Lion noises a few months ago and rifle was stored in that condition for about 3 months, new round, clean chamber, and the extractor won't move back from lock more than a half inch.

It appears the extractor is not rotating fully to slide out of the spiral, unknown if the problem is with the ejector or the round, etc... And since the pump is forward, I can't get to the fasteners to detach that.

I've gotten some input from LeeRoy Wisner, but I would welcome some from here as well, before I go trying any excessivly forceful means to clear this weapon. The trigger mech has been removed from the receiver, so less chance of a firing of the live round in the chamber.

That's about it for me... I intend to rebuild, and would luv to have Dad's ol' Hunting Rifle in functioning condition above the mantle in the new house when it's done...
