I just got an email from Remington that says the new R51 will be in stores to release on 8/12, the msrp is $448.
I like the looks of it but I think I'll wait a few months before I get one 8-)
Anyone planning to pick one up when it is released ?

I wouldn't mind getting another. I really liked mine before I sent it in. Thing is, I was hoping to get a .22 rifle this year. I'm the only gun guy I know who doesn't own a .22 rifle and we now have a steel plate .22 plinking range out at the club where I shoot. The MSRP on the new model seems very reasonable considering how much money Remington has sunk into the project by now.

I'm actually in contact with my dealer. They have a standing order of them due as soon as they ship. I'll be one of the first to get one. I can't wait. I'm gitty with anticipation

Just bought my new one today. $399.99 at the local big box sports and outdoors store. Slide is very smooth, trigger is a little different from before, and the magazine followers are slightly changed as mentioned elsewhere in here. Probably won't get a chance to try it out this week, but I have been stockpiling Winchester White Box for the occasion. I notice it fits nicely in a Bianchi IWB holster sized for a Beretta 84F.
