I hope you can help me with information about a model 700 I just acquired. It is in excellent condition, and I wanted to know about its history, the model that is is, and its value, if anyone would be kind enough to render their opinion.
Here is what I know:
Remington Model 700 - .243 Deer Rifle - bolt action
Serial Number: 6880611 (Mfg. - June 1975)
PZ 27 on barrel measures 21" in length (the model BDL comes in 22" length)
.243 Wincester
Hinged Floorplate
Monte Carlo comb on stock
Safety must be off in order to cycle the bolt - Must be set to FIRE position.
Remington Arms Co. Inc.
Ilion, NY
Made in USA
4x .38 Bushnell Sportview Waterproof Scope - model number S 4389
I THINK I HAVE A MODEL BDL, BUT IT MIGHT BE A CDL, although I was told there may be white line spacers in the BDL, and this gun doesn't have them. The finish seems gloss to me & it has the Monte Carlo comb on the stock, and the barrel is certainly under 22" in length. There is a black forend cap, so hopefully someone can tell me which model it is from the photos I have.
I cannot see how to attach photos on this forum, but I have a number I would sure like to post to show the characteristics of this gun.
I ALSO HOPE SOMEONE CAN GIVE ME AN ESTIMATE OF VALUE.
Thanks very much, Mike Reisman

As for your question....
It sounds like a BDL from your description... https://www.remington.com/rifles/bolt-a ... el-700-bdl |

Sure looks like a BDL to me. Nice caliber for deer and smaller game. Made with the good old walnut and decent bluing. Gun should be worth maybe $450-500 in decent shape.
