A buddy of mine was looking for a shotgun. He had a simple criteria. 12 gauge, pump, simple.

We drove around checking every pawn shop and gun shop for thirty miles.....found nothing. Finalluy, on the way home, we stopped at a pawn shop down the street from my house.

On the rack, turned so we could not tell the make, was a well worn shotgun. I asked the guy in the shop if we could see it.

"It's an old Remington". he said. It was priced at $199.

I noticed it was a Wingmaster and told my buddy to jump on it. My buddy thought a minute and said he was going to pass.

The shop guy said "I reckon I can let it go for a hundred and a half".

Well, if my friend wasn't buying it, I was. And I did.

She's a 1970 model, rough around the edges and well used. She still shoots like a Wingmaster should.

I had to clean out about 40 years of crud from the inside, but once I did, it was smooth as butter.

I shoulda gone to this place first. About 5 years ago, I got an Ithaca 37 there for $100.

I bought a Wingmaster Magnum with a 30" Full vent rib barrel brand new for $150 in 1974. Shot that gun better than any other shotgun I have ever handled.
What could have happened... did.

A Wingmaster for $150. Good deal in any shape. I would be definitely considering bringing it back to original brilliance as far as bluing and stock refurbishing. Have checked the price of new ones! Holy Cow!
