FYI ––
A SR (service request) from Remington for warranty work on the above a New Remington RM380 was sent to:
Marks Outdoor Sports, 1400-B Montgomery Highway, Birmingham, Al. 35216,
a local gunsmith that Remington uses for warranty work on pistols.
The issue was the trigger did not break every time. I did not test this adequately upon receipt before signing the transfer release, until I got home. I never fired the gun. The gun was returned to me today, Jan 22, 2016, after over two months, with the following note:
Inspect and Repair:
New trigger bar used to bring trigger pull to within spec.
Remington Warranty. Gun test functioned OK. 1/16/16
I still haven’t fired the gun and am not sure when I will.
Why the long wait? It took Remington over a month to get the prepaid mailer to me. Each weekly telephone call resulted in them saying it was resent, but never arrived. A fourth call resulted in the rep hand carrying the request to the girl who sends them out and it finally arrived.
Then over a week before the “next day” UPS pickup arrived to pick it up and ship it 2nd day air. Mark’s send me a card the following day with an expected turn around time of 2 weeks. It arrived 3 weeks later.
I’m satisfied with the trigger operation now (before firing the pistol) but I can’t say much about Remington’s Support expediency –– a test of patience and persistence –– and the reminder of taking more time to inspect and test the operation of my next gun.
