Welcome from MI!!

Not sure on your question, I'm more of a shotgun guy, hopefully someone more knowledgeable can step up.

The 700P has a far better stock (made by H-S Precision) than the SPS, and the 700P weighs a half-pound more largely due to this. The SPS has just a run-of-the-mill synthetic stock with no special bedding or stiffening. If your rifle will be in all kinds of weather the 700P is probably the best choice of the two.
An ATI stock set on a 1955 16-ga Wingmaster would make Baby Jesus cry...........

Image700 PSS all the way it a winner !!!! It has a extremely long throat so I use 208 grain A max which still have a long bearing surface to be able to avoid jumping or jamming the bullet
