I am building an adjustable stock turkey gun for my son it will also be a back up for myself. It will be a 20 gauge compact 870 with wood stock. I planned on removing the wooden stock and installing a knoxx adjustable AR style recoil suppressing stock. I like the compact version 870 for the 21" barrel length. With the knoxx stock it should make for a easy swinging gun in the dense woods in Florida. My question is will the Knoxx stock for a 12 gauge fit the 20 gauge receiver. I hear it is almost impossible to find a 20 gauge 870 knoxx stock. I found that mesa tactical makes an adapter piece to use the 12 gauge stock on the 20 gauge receiver. But are the fore grips the same size?

Buttstock and fore end are different between any 20 made since about 1978 and any 12. I believe ATI also has a stock to fit 20s. Don't know if it involves an adapter or not.
What could have happened... did.

Dang Turkey Thug, I seen a Knoxx 20ga Remi stock on another forum a few days ago. I just went back to get the link and it had been sold.
I just put a 6-position on my Mossberg 20ga Im using for turkey this year, its got the Scorpion recoil pad. I do believe its heavier now than with the factory straight stock. That pistol grip is super nice and comfortable though! |

If all else fails, mesa Tactical makes an adapter that allows 12ga 870 stocks to be installed on 20ga receivers.

I realize this is an old thread, but I do have some info. We don't sell the Knoxx stock. I don't like the way the Knoxx pinches my cheek. Look into the Phoenix Kicklite. They make one for 20 gauge 870. I kept one from our first shipment for my wife's 20 gauge, and she loves it.
