Greetings!
Looking at a possible wilson scattergun purchase and didn't see any threads...any owners here that can share experiences? . Looking at a standard model. Have looked at differing comments about how you could build a better 870 from scratch etc....there is something to be said for already done too...
what is the most you would pay for one? Or better yet what is the value based on parts and finishes and fitment?

Thanks in advance!

I think the way Remington builds them is just fine with me, and has been for over 40 years, and for a lot less money. But, if you like it, it's your money and your choice. In my experience with other guns, Wilson does not put out junk.

I've always known Wilson for exceptional work but for a price.

Unless you have a specific need for such a gun I don't see the need for such a high price. The 870 is a really easy gun to configure as you need it at a much lower cost than buying a full on custom model.

My bone stock 870 has run for over 10K rounds. I finally put a short LOP stock, turkey barrel and Williams Fire Sights on the VR on it for use as an HD gun but have done no other mods to it. (I did try an extended mag tube but found it made the gun too front heavy for my liking.)

Just my opinion, YMMV.

I've heard nothing but good things about Wilson Combat's 870s, but an 870's an 870. You could drop those same accessories onto a stock 870 Police (or an Express, if you don't need the higher-end Parkerized finish), spend some time at the range breaking it in, and you'll have a gun that'll perform exactly the same. I don't think the Scattergun name alone is worth the extra money.

Welcome to the forum! The Wilson Combat guns are awesome, but priced beyond my means. Wish they were not.

Just looks like a dressed up 870. Looks nice but the price doesn't IMO.
For the price of one you could get like 4 or 5 870s the way you like them and still have money for ammo.

Wilson makes great stuff, no doubt. But I also feel like they're obscenely over-priced.
